Who are Friends of Skeleton Hill Inc.?
A number of individuals concerned about Cemex Australia's proposal for a large hard-rock quarry on Skeleton Hill, Chiltern, formed Friends of Skeleton Hill Inc. in April 2009.
Friends of Skeleton Hill Inc. (FofSH) believe that a quarry on Skeleton Hill will amongst other things, have a devastating visual impact on the hill, which is clearly Chiltern's most dominant and identifiable landscape feature (pictured).
FofSH, therefore oppose this, and any other inappropriate development on Skeleton Hill, and would like to work alongside Cemex Australia in identifying an acceptable alternative to their current proposal to quarry Skeleton Hill.
FofSH have been active in making submissions to the Federal Minister for the Environment, the Victorian Minister for Planning and will certainly be making their position clear, if and when, Cemex make their planning application to Indigo Shire.
